During 2023, amuseapp marked a turning point in museum innovation by presenting a comprehensive and revolutionary digital solution. With the introduction of a state-of-the-art webapp and smartphone app, amuseapp redefined the relationship between museums and audiences, radically transforming the cultural experience.
Through our webapp, museums have gained the ability to personalize every aspect of the visit, managing practical information and actively engaging users in unique itineraries and points of interest. Powerful features such as intuitive uploading of data, creation of QRCodes for easy navigation, and generation of personalized itineraries using artificial intelligence have completely transformed the museum experience.
The platform has evolved monthly, demonstrating our ongoing commitment to the field. Key events in 2023, such as recognition as a finalist in the Marzotto Prize in June, followed by selection in the Innovacultura Cariplo program in September, highlighted our presence and commitment to museum innovation.
amuseapp’s 2023 in numbers
During 2023, amuseapp welcomed 350 museums from different regions of Italy into its community, expanding even beyond national borders to include museums from Slovenia and Switzerland.
A significant step was taken in September 2023 with the launch of activities on social media such as Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and LinkedIn. This strategy proved to be a genuine success, attracting 2752 amusers (amuseapp followers) by December 2023, who together with the 4591 readers of the monthly newsletter form a large united and unique community in Italy.

The 2023 of amuseapp: key moments
March: launch of amuseapp
The exciting journey of amuseapp began on March 27, 2023, with its official launch during the online event “Evolution of Museums: The Future of Museums and Cultural Innovation.” This occasion, led by Michele Da Rold, marked the beginning of an ambitious project that aims to revolutionize the museum approach through digitization and democratization of cultural progress.
During the discussion, Michele explored the future of museums, analyzing significant efforts in reorganizing and digitizing the museum industry. The evolution of the museum industry and the importance for museums to adapt to new ways of delivering information and offering innovative experiences to visitors was addressed.
Critical issues were examined, such as challenges in adopting innovative technologies, skills shortages in the museum sector, and the need to develop new frameworks for engaging visitors in cultural institutions.
The event also highlighted emerging trends in museums, such as sustainable tourism, digital visits, and the evolution of museum audio guides. The discussion covered crucial aspects, including adaptation to new visitor needs, museum trust and loyalty, strategic use of social media during the pandemic, and the shift to a personalized approach in museum evolution.
In addition, topics such as theintegration of advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence into museum management, the crucial role of curators in the preservation and presentation of museum content, and innovative digital solutions to make art and culture accessible to a wider audience were explored.
The amuseapp project was presented as a comprehensive solution with significant cost savings, a universal approach suitable for museums of different sizes, and ongoing collaboration with various institutions to ensure holistic development in the contemporary cultural landscape.

May: Larin Camp
The highlight in May was Larin Camp, held between May 17 and 18. Larin Camp is a corporate retreat organized by the Larin Group twice a year. On this occasion, all team members gathered at a farmhouse-villa in the province of Florence.
Thanks to the valuable collaboration ofInterventionist Coach Nicola Zema, Larin Camp was the perfect place to interact, get to know each other better, and build strong relationships within the team. Not just a corporate retreat, it was a positive energy boost for the whole team. Overall, Larin Camp acted as a catalyst for improving team dynamics, promoting individual development, and creating a more stimulating work environment. Combined, these elements brought tangible value to amuseapp by improving its corporate culture, internal collaboration, and overall employee well-being.
June: “Archeomuseo” project and finalists for Marzotto Prize
The “ArcheoMuseo” project was a pioneering collaboration between amuseapp, the University of Padua, and the Museum of Archaeological Sciences and Art, born out of the call for “Innovative Student Projects-2021” and actively involving 12 students. The main goal was to radically transform the museum experience by embracing cutting-edge digital solutions.
Through an in-depth analysis of the current museum context, the central concept of the “museum avatar” emerged, a revolutionary idea that aimed to personalize each visitor’s experience. amuseapp proposed an innovative educational framework, making use of artificial intelligence to simplify the creation of engaging content. The co-design of two museum itineraries further enriched the overall experience, culminating in the creation of a mobile app and WebApp. These solutions enabled autonomous content management, offering the public a completely renewed museum experience.
In short, “ArcheoMuseo” has redefined the concept of museum visitation by combining digital innovation and personalization of experience. This project highlighted the intrinsic value of collaboration between technology, education and cultural heritage.

In the same month, amuseapp gained prestigious recognition by applying for the Marzotto Prize and being selected among the finalists in early October. This further recognition confirms amuseapp’s constant commitment and innovation in the field of culture and technology.
July: finalists Treviso Creativity Week
As part of the “Creativity Startup 2023” event, amuseapp achieved considerable success, emerging among the 24 selected startups. This award enhanced the innovation and creativity of aspiring Italian entrepreneurs, with a focus on the circular economy and sustainable land development. The recognition of amuseapp stemmed from its commitment to improving the museum experience through personalized tours and interactive content.

amuseapp selected among 24 startups for Treviso Creativity Week
September: selected in InnovaCultura by Cariplo Factory and Fondazione Cariplo
In September, amuseapp was selected to participate in the InnovaCultura call for proposals promoted by Cariplo Factory and Fondazione Cariplo. This initiative, aimed at cultural venues, aims to reinvent their activities while promoting the development of cultural and creative enterprises, including startups, SMEs and nonprofit organizations.
The InnovaCultura project focuses on various cultural institutions, such as museums, ecomuseums, museum collections, UNESCO sites, archaeological sites, libraries, archives and library systems, emphasizing the fundamental role of such places in formation, transmission of collective identities and social cohesion. In this new edition, the initiative aims to stimulate the identification and development of new paradigms and experimental systems for designing, producing, distributing and promoting culture.
amuseapp’s participation in InnovaCultura provides an opportunity to contribute to useful, sustainable and replicable innovation in the cultural and creative sector. This initiative will enable rethinking the operating model of cultural venues and adapting the offerings of cultural and creative enterprises to the new needs of communities, while maintaining consistency with their mission.

October: the new version of the app, the Webinar “Museum Odyssey. Journey through technologies that will revolutionize the visitor experience” and Eureka Day 2023
On October 5, amuseapp officially unveiled its new version for Android and iOS devices, representing a significant leap in the evolution of the app. The update focused on optimizing the user interface and implementing cutting-edge features, providing an even smoother, more intuitive and engaging cultural exploration experience.
Then, on October 13, 2023, Villa Manin in Passariano opened its doors forEureka Day 2023, an event organized by the Friuli Venezia Giulia Region to facilitate collaboration between cultural and creative businesses and traditional businesses. amuseapp actively participated, contributing to a plenary session focused on “Culture and Creativity 4.0” and a B2B meeting session aimed at fostering connections and partnerships between cultural and traditional businesses. This meeting offered Friuli Venezia Giulia businesses the opportunity to develop innovative business projects and fruitful collaborations, emphasizing the importance of integrating creativity into the fabric of traditional businesses. The event highlighted the value of inter-firm collaborations in promoting innovation and economic growth in the region.
On Oct. 26, new trends of digitization in the world of culture were explored during the webinar “2024: museum odyssey,” organized as part of “Digitalmeet.” Michele Da Rold, an expert in marketing and digital transformation in the cultural sector, introduced the event by reflecting on future trends and scenarios in the world of digital culture.
Next, representatives of two digital solutions adopted by prestigious Italian museums spoke:
– Paolo Piccoli of amuseapp, the app that replaces audio guides with a digital solution based on artificial intelligence, revolutionizing the visitor experience.
– Vincenzo Abbatantuoni of Tela, the startup that simplifies the management and promotion of Italian cultural sites through the use of paperless tickets and Big Data to analyze tourist flows (in partnership with Evening Ltd).
During the webinar, the new version of the amuseapp app was announced, marking the beginning of a collaboration with Canvas. The overall goal of the event was to provide museum professionals with the essential tools to navigate the ever-changing digital landscape and to announce significant innovations in the context of digital cultural experiences.

November: presentation of “Buttrio System”
In November amuseapp was involved in the presentation of “Sistema Buttrio,” an innovative project developed in collaboration between amuseapp, Larin and the municipality of Buttrio. Supported by local associations and funded by the Friuli Venezia Giulia Region, this digital platform, consisting of an app and a web portal, celebrates Buttrio’s rich history, culture and landscape. With a successful launch on November 6, 2023, the project has actively engaged the local community, promising to position Buttrio as a tourism destination of excellence in the Eastern Hills of Friuli Venezia Giulia.
December: Larin Camp
With the second Larin Camp of the year held in December, members of the amuseapp, neocode and Larin teams ended the year under the banner of collaboration, team cohesion and passion for innovation. This event was a unique time for the teams to solidify their synergy and manifest a shared commitment to excellence and the cutting edge, before taking a short break for the Christmas season.
