Salerno Sacra is an itinerary of history, art, and faith that leads to the discovery of the most important ecclesiastical sites in the city of Salerno.
The itinerary includes:
The Cathedral of San Matteo, where the remains of Pope Saint Gregory VII and the Apostle and Evangelist Saint Matthew are preserved;
The Diocesan Museum, guardian of the Medieval Ivory cycle, the Exultet, and precious masterpieces that narrate the history of Salerno from the 12th to the 19th century;
The Rectory of San Giorgio, a centuries-old building that today displays all its sumptuous Baroque elegance.
Following Salerno Sacra means entering the city’s places of faith and taking a journey through history, supporting a heritage of art, culture, and spirituality of inestimable value.
The circuit is open every day, Monday through Sunday, from 9:30 AM to 6:30 PM, welcoming a diverse audience in terms of age and geographic origin.
What were the main challenges before using amuseapp?
Before the introduction of the digital audioguide, one of the main challenges concerned the enhancement of historical and artistic content.
“In the absence of adequate tools, many fundamental aspects of greatest historical and cultural importance risked remaining insufficiently explored or ignored by the public,” says Mariachiara Rocco.
We wanted to convey the complexity and richness of the works preserved. Additionally, the need to offer content in multiple languages for an international audience represented a significant organizational challenge.
