"amuseapp is an innovative, simple, useful and enjoyable solution for visitors"
Discover the experience of Acquafredda Castle with the audioguide by amuseapp.
Introduction
Acquafredda Castle is one of the most fascinating medieval complexes in Sardinia. Located on a hill near Siliqua, just a few kilometers from Cagliari airport, it often represents the first cultural stop for many tourists who have just arrived on the island.
The site welcomes approximately 10,000 visitors per year, of which about 50% are foreigners, and is particularly influenced by weather conditions and holidays. It is a suggestive but complex context, where ensuring a complete, accessible and sustainable visit experience is not always simple.
What were the main difficulties that your cultural site faced before using amuseapp?
“We could not offer guided tours to all visitors,” explains Matteo Pitzalis, representative of Acquafredda Castle.
“For health, organizational and visit duration reasons, the constant presence of guides was not sustainable.”
Before amuseapp, the visit experience was mainly based on information panels and paper maps, useful tools but with necessarily limited content.
Furthermore, it was difficult to meet the needs of foreign visitors, especially beyond the most common languages like Italian, English and German.
Why did you choose amuseapp?
“The simplicity and immediacy of the solution convinced us right away,” explains Matteo.
“amuseapp allowed us to offer a complete audioguide without disrupting the site’s organization.”
Another decisive element was the direct relationship with the team, particularly with Francesco, and the speed of response during the startup phase: a fundamental aspect for an organization that often works with limited resources.
How has amuseapp improved the visit experience?
Today the audioguide is available in five languages, allowing Acquafredda Castle to adequately welcome both Italian and international visitors.
“The audioguide works like a real spoken guided tour,” continues Matteo.
“The content is rich, clear and accompanies the visitor along the path in a natural way.”
The feedback collected is very positive: visitors appreciate the possibility of exploring the site autonomously, following their own pace, but without giving up a structured and engaging narrative.
Technical implementation: simple and accessible
The use of amuseapp has proven intuitive for most visitors.
The staff provides initial support to start the audio and explain how it works, helping to increase the usage rate.
“In some cases there are difficulties related to very old phones or those with little memory,” explains Matteo.
“For this reason the web app with QR code has proven to be the best solution compared to the traditional downloadable app.”
Content optimization
Over time, the Castle has worked together with the amuseapp team to simplify the experience:
- the itineraries have been reduced from four to two;
- an adult route and a simplified version for children have been introduced, much appreciated by families.
“We didn’t want to overload visitors: the current content is sufficient and works well.”
How would you describe amuseapp in one sentence?
“Innovative, simple, useful and enjoyable for visitors.”
