Volandia is a one-of-a-kind place: a park and museum that tells the story of the dream of flight in all its forms. Located next to Malpensa airport, it offers an exhibition path of over 2 km that spans the history of aeronautics, from the pioneering spirit of the early 1900s to the most modern space innovations. The various themed areas, from the forms of flight to astronomy, from fixed-wing to rotary-wing aircraft, through drones, model cars and the children's area, make Volandia a place where children and adults alike can rediscover the wonder of flight and of transportation in all its forms.
What were the main difficulties the museum faced before implementing amuseapp?
"The main challenge was offering a complete and engaging visit experience for individual visitors too and for foreign tourists," explains Giovanni Oldani, Volandia's contact person.
Indeed, guided tours with specialized staff were only available for booked groups of at least ten people, leaving individual visitors and families, especially foreign ones, without support during the visit.
Why did you choose amuseapp?
"What convinced us most was the flexibility of the tool, the ability to create multilingual content easily, and the pay-per-ticket model. This last point is a huge advantage, since it requires no upfront investment and makes the solution accessible. Unlike other audio guide systems, which are often expensive, rigid and slow to set up, amuseapp proved to be the best choice in terms of quality, flexibility and price."
How has amuseapp contributed to improving the visit experience?
"The app has definitely improved accessibility, especially for foreign visitors. Those who choose the guide appreciate the chance to explore Volandia independently, at their own pace but still with interactive support available. Feedback from those who use the guide has been very positive.
One initial aspect to improve was connectivity: wifi coverage isn't stable throughout the museum park. We talked about it with the amuseapp team and together we solved the problem by making the audio guides available offline too. This resolved the issue, ensuring a more stable, smooth and accessible experience for all visitors."
Which features impressed you the most?
"Definitely the quality of the multilingual translations: starting from a text in Italian, we found the foreign-language versions to be very well done. The artificial intelligence used by amuseapp proved to be a valuable ally in producing clear, enjoyable content able to speak to an international audience."
