Salerno Sacra

Discover the Salerno Sacra experience with amuseapp's audio guide.
Salerno Sacra is a journey of history, art and faith that leads to the discovery of the most important ecclesiastical sites in the city of Salerno.
The route includes:
- The Cathedral of San Matteo, where the remains of Pope San Gregorio VII and the Apostle and Evangelist San Matteo are kept;
- The Diocesan Museum, home to the cycle of Medieval Ivories, the Exultet and precious masterpieces that tell the story of Salerno from the 12th to the 19th century;
- The Rectory of San Giorgio, a centuries-old building that today displays all its lavish baroque elegance.
Following the Salerno Sacra route means entering the city's places of faith and making a journey through history, supporting a heritage of art, culture and spirituality of inestimable value.
The circuit is open every day, Monday to Sunday, from 9:30 am to 6:30 pm, welcoming a diverse audience in terms of age and geographic origin.
What were the main difficulties before using amuseapp?
Before the introduction of the digital audio guide, one of the main challenges concerned the showcasing of the historical and artistic content.
"Without adequate tools, many fundamental aspects of greater historical and cultural importance risked remaining under-explored or overlooked by the public," says Mariachiara Rocco.
We wanted to be able to convey the complexity and richness of the works held here. In addition, the need to offer content in multiple languages for an international audience represented a significant organizational challenge.
Why did you choose amuseapp?
The choice was guided by three key factors:
- Ease of use
- Multilingual accessibility
- Constant support throughout all phases of the project
"We felt comfortable right from the start, both in the phase before public use and afterwards, once the project was up and running."
The simplicity of the web app made it possible to integrate the solution without disrupting internal organization, while at the same time ensuring a more structured visit experience.
How has amuseapp improved the visit experience?
The audio guide has transformed the route into a clear and engaging narrative journey.
Structured in sections and enriched with audio content, readable texts and in-depth images, it accompanies the visitor along the entire route, with the option to re-listen to or re-read the information completely independently.
"The ease of use of the app allowed us to reach a very wide pool of visitors, spanning different age groups. In addition, the ability to offer content in multiple languages allowed us to broaden our reach geographically as well."
The result is a more accessible, more inclusive and more complete experience. The visitor can explore the key points of the heritage at their own pace and according to their own interests, with no constraints but with constant, qualified support.
Technical implementation: simple and immediate
The solution was implemented without operational complexity. Thanks to the web app, accessible via QR code:
- no app download is needed;
- the visitor uses their own smartphone;
- staff can provide minimal, immediate support.
This encouraged rapid adoption and a smooth experience for a wide-ranging audience.
The results
✔️ Greater visibility for historical and artistic content
